Abstract:
The aim of this study was to measure the fatigue resistance of titanium, titanium alloy and cobalt-chromium cast clasps with and without laser welding reparation. In addition, the porosity and alpha-case layer were determined. The retentive force of non-laser clasp at 10 years of use from Ti6Al7Nb is equal to CrCo and more than Ti Grad II. Therefore, Ti6Al7Nb was suggested to use as clasp instead of CrCo. The retentive force of the laser clasp is equal or more than the non-laser at 1 year of use. Thus laser welding was recommended to repair for clasp to use in 1 year. The quality of this casting machine and technique can be accepted for alpha-case layer, whereas the porosity of specimen shows necessary to be improved.
