Autoritäre Gesellschaften als Brutstätte von "Justiceiros"

Abstract

Die Entwicklung von gewaltförmiger Selbsthilfe gegen kriminelles Verhalten in den Slums brasilianischer Großstädte wird als Folge sozialstruktureller, politischer, kultureller und ökonomischer Entwicklungen analysiert. Der spezifische Typus der „Justiceiros" wird als Produkt einer autoritären Gesellschaftsformation beschrieben.

The emergence of violent forms of self help against criminal threat in the slums of metropolitan centers of Brazil is analyzed in terms of social-structural, political, cultural, and economic conditions. Tue specific type of the „Justiceiro" is described as the product of an authoritarian formation of society.
