Kooperation: Compliance - Anpassung - Unterwerfung? : zur Dialektik von Verhaltensattributen und -erwartung: Ergebnisse einer empirischen Felduntersuchung

Abstract

Die freiheitsentziehende Unterbringung und Behandlung psychisch gestörter Rechtsbrecher beinhaltet unweigerlich auch Komponenten des Zwangs und der Kontrolle. Der Beitrag rekapituliert Literatur und referiert Befunde zur gesellschaftlichen, gutachterlichen, therapeutischen und institutionellen Praxis des Maßregelvollzugs, um anschließend eine empirisch-statistische Analyse von Fremdbeurteilungen über ,Kooperation' vorzunehmen. Im Ergebnis erweisen sich die soziale Wahrnehmung des Verhaltens und das soziale Urteil darüber als kontext- und personenabhängig. Analog zur Compliance-Problematik lässt sich auch für die geforderte Kooperation feststellen, dass diese zwar einseitig dem Patienten attribuiert wird,jedoch vielmehr Ergebnis einer sich selbst erfallenden Prophezeiung sowie reziproker Verhaltenserwartungen und lnteraktionserfahrungen ist. Die These einer disziplinierenden Handlungs- und Behandlungspraxis konnte nicht bestätigt werden.

Co-operation: compliance - adaptation - subjection? The dialectics of behavioural attributions and expectancies: Resultats of an empirical research project The treatment of mentally ill delinquents in disciplinary measures and forensic hospitals includes undeniably aspects of constraint and control. First, the contribution gives a repetition of literature and reports on results concerning the social, therapeutic, and institutional practice in special hospitals. In the second part it refers to an empirical and statistical analysis of judgements upon the patient 's cooperation, using these attributions to generate indications of behavioural norms and normalisation as well as of their implications. As expected, social perception and social judgement prove to depend of the context and the involved persons. In analogy to the compliance problem, the staff tends to one-sided attributions although this demanded co-operation must be considered as result of self fulfilling prophecies as well as of behavioural expectancies and interactional experiences. The presumption of disciplinary treatments could not be verified: Formally adapted or subjecting behaviour had significantly no influence on decisions concerning future probation.
